Thomas D. Bell, Jr.

Chairman

Tom Bell became Chairman of Mesa Capital Partners in May 2011. Prior to Mesa Capital Partners, Bell served as Chairman and CEO of Cousins Properties (NYSE: CUZ), an Atlanta based REIT that developed and owned commercial and residential properties throughout the Sun Belt. He was named Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Cousins Properties in January 2001, President and CEO in January 2002, and Chairman of the Board in December 2006. Tom retired as Chairman and CEO in July 2009.

Prior to his years at Cousins Properties, Tom spent 10 years at Young & Rubicam Inc. (NYSE: YNR), a global advertising and marketing communications firm, retiring as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer when it merged with WPP. Before becoming Chairman of Young & Rubicam Inc., he served as Chairman and CEO of Young & Rubicam Advertising and as CEO of Burson-Marsteller and Young & Rubicam’s Diversified Communications Group.

During his career, Tom has served as a member of the Board of Directors of 14 NYSE companies. He presently serves on the boards of Southern Company Gas, Norfolk Southern Corporation, Emory University, and Skyland Trail.

During the Reagan administration, Mr. Bell chaired the Committee on the Next Agenda, which focused on prioritizing issues for President Reagan’s second term. He also chaired the Workforce 2000 Advisory Committee for the U.S. Secretary of Labor. Early in his career, Tom served as Chief of Staff for former U.S. Senator William Brock (R-Tenn).

Throughout his 50 year career, Mr. Bell has held other senior positions in business and government, including Vice Chairman of Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, Executive Vice President of Ball Corporation, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hudson Institute, the 2010-2011 Chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of the Board for the Center for Naval Analysis.

Jeff S. Tucker

Managing Partner

Jeff Tucker serves as Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Mesa Capital Partners, bringing over 35 years of acquisition and development experience. Prior to his role at Mesa, Jeff was Founder and President of J. Tucker Development Partners, a full service real estate development firm located in Atlanta, Georgia. Tucker has a proven multifamily track record in the Southeast having successfully developed or invested in over 10,000 multifamily units.

He began his career in real estate after graduating from the University of Georgia, where he received an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Advertising. In 1986, Tucker co-founded Land South Development in Macon, Georgia. Land South primarily developed, constructed and managed multifamily apartments with a focus in the Southeast. Companies managed by Tucker have successfully delivered projects totaling more than $1 billion in asset value.

Zach Schaumburg Headshot

Zach Schaumburg has an extensive background in real estate development primarily in land development, mixed-use, single-family residential and multifamily apartments and condominiums. Zach’s prior experience provides him knowledge of low, medium and high density residential projects having entitled, master-planned and financed large-scale, mixed-use residential projects and multiple multifamily and condominium projects.

Zach played an important role bringing Mesa Capital Partners to fruition. He is a partner, and in his role at Mesa he is responsible for sourcing opportunities, managing the acquisition or development process, evaluating potential investments and capital structuring.

Prior to Mesa, Zach last served as Vice President for J. Tucker Development Partners where he helped build the company from the ground up from 2005 through 2010. J. Tucker Development Partners was a full service land acquisition and real estate development firm that developed multifamily apartments, single-family subdivisions and various other commercial and residential developments.

Early on, Zach began his career with Hines where he was focused on resort development. In his tenure with Hines Resorts, he helped craft a 500-acre master planned golf course community and re-developed the resort village of Aspen Highlands ski mountain both located in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado. For a period after Hines, he worked on infill hotel, condominium and retail developments with Legacy Property Group in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mr. Schaumburg graduated with honors from the University of Colorado where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Advertising. He later graduated from the Center for Real Estate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he earned a Masters in Real Estate Development in 2002. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, National Multi Housing Council, and the Atlanta Apartment Association.

Will Killgore Headshot

Will has significant experience in the real estate industry including development, acquisitions, debt and equity placement, leasing, and asset management. He has been involved in projects in excess of $750 million including multifamily, industrial, office, and mixed use product types. At Mesa, Will is responsible for identifying new investment opportunities, managing the closing process, due diligence, and arranging debt financing.

Will has held positions with Cushman & Wakefield, the RADCO Companies, and spent the majority of his career as a development manager for Opus South Corporation in Atlanta, GA. While at Opus, he was involved in all activities related to new development of various product types throughout the Southeast, including site identification, entitlements, ground-up development, build to suit opportunities, asset management, and leasing. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University and Bachelor of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Ty Mitchell

Senior Analyst

Ty has spent all of his career in commercial real estate thus far, primarily focusing on financial underwriting and investment. At Mesa, Ty is responsible for the financial underwriting of new investment opportunities, market research, investment due diligence, and asset management.

Prior to joining Mesa Capital Partners, Ty served as an Analyst at Cygnus Capital Real Estate Advisors focusing on the acquisition and management of underperforming commercial real estate-backed debt. While at Cygnus, his responsibilities included primarily the identifying new investment opportunities, financial underwriting, and property-level due diligence.

Ty began his career at Cushman & Wakefield, as an Analyst and Associate within the Diligence Advisory Group, specializing in debt and equity underwriting for commercial real estate lenders and investors.

Ty earned a B.S. with Special Attainments in Commerce in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University where he helped found the Real Estate Society. Ty is originally from Atlanta, where he attended The Lovett School.

Emily Rose Terrell

Project Coordinator

Emily Rose Terrell transitioned from J. Tucker Development to Mesa when it was formed in 2010 to assist with operations, acquisitions and asset management. With over 10 years of experience in the real estate industry, she applies her skills in all areas of accounting, project development, marketing and office management for Mesa Capital Partners.

While previously with J. Tucker Development, she worked with a team to acquire, sell and develop both multifamily, single family residential, and mixed-use projects. Emily Rose received her Bachelor’s Degree in Consumer Economics from the University of Georgia in 2006.

Senior Manager

Callie Mixon has an experienced financial background and has been with Mesa Capital Partners since 2018. She provides Mesa with financial and operational support for their investment portfolio. She is also the Senior Manager of Investor Relations.

Prior to working with Mesa, Callie worked as an experienced associate at Warren Averett, LLC. She had an In-charge role for Audit projects, where she provided mentoring and guidance for the staff auditors. She primarily conducted Financial Statement audits for the Technology sector, Hospitality, and Non-Profit Organizations, as well as providing financial assurance for Benefit Plan audits. In addition, she provided financial consulting for Due Diligence projects/Acquisitions.

Callie applies her financial knowledge and attention to detail to help run Mesa’s projects smoothly and effectively. She also applies her skills to aid Charmain, Thomas Bell, with his various other business interests.

Preston Tucker 

Development Assistant

Preston Tucker is a development assistant for Mesa Capital. She is a recent graduate from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Housing Management and Policy.

She uses her skills and talent in assisting in new developments, acquisitions, and other property managerial tasks. Prior to working with Mesa, Preston worked with Atlanta based Cortland Partners in their U.K. apartment development division in London.

Associate

Hannah Bell is an associate at Mesa capital Partners. She joined the Mesa team in March 2019, after working in the entertainment and hospitality businesses.

She is a graduate of Clemson University, where she majored in psychology with minors in sociology and Spanish.

Tom Bell became Chairman of Mesa Capital Partners in 2010. Prior to Mesa Capital Partners, Bell served as Chairman and CEO of Cousins Properties (NYSE: CUZ), an Atlanta based REIT that developed and owned commercial and residential properties throughout the Sun Belt. Mr. Bell served as the 2005 Chairman for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the 2010-2011 Chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce where he presently serves as Chairman of the Compensation Committee.

Callie Mixon works with the Chairman, Thomas D Bell, as his Senior Associate. She manages his assets on an operational and financial level.
